FIJI Tree Thieves Get the Shaft
Fraternity punished in theft of tree;WPI takes action, Fiji willing to pay
As a follow-up to our previous feature "FIJI members busted for stealing Christmas". Here's an article that spells out the aftermath of the Great Tree Theft of 2006. The highlights include: 720 hours of community service, and $7,000 to replace the tree, which was apparently nearly forty feet tall, before being hacked down to a two foot stump. I asked my friend about his incident a Thiel College. His reads like a laundry list of what not to do: in a public park, broad daylight, wearing fraternity letters. They definitely got the double secret probation.
