Kegs, Liquor and Fun Banned at Pitt-Johnstown
Pa. College Cracks Down on Drinking with New Party Rules
Students at the University of Pittsburgh's Johnstown campus may want to take up activities like knitting, hopscotch, or gasp - studying this semester as school officials have cracked down on all forms of traditional college-kid fun.
Although the college reports that there have been no large-scale alcohol related mishaps or accidents, school officials decided to implement the new policy to prevent the possibility of any occurring in the near future.
Alcohol is still allowed to be present at parties, but how much is what's at stake with the new policy. No kegs, no hard liquor - ever. Students, who are 'of age' of course, are permitted to bring a 6-pack of their favorite beer to party. Once they get to the party, the 6-pack must be turned over and regulated by the organizations risk management crew.
The regional campus' 4 frats - ACACIA, Delta Chi, Delta Sigma Chi, and Kappa Delta Rho - will be forced to abide by the regulations unless they wish to face sanctions from the university.
Luckily, students can transfer to the University of Pittsburgh's main campus, located in the party-friendly Oakland neighborhood of the steel city. So, UPJ students, get your credits, and get the hell out of Johnstown if you plan to have any fun in college.
