Lambda Phi Epsilon Officers Charged in Pledge's Death

Former Fraternity Officers Indicted

Three former officers of Lambda Phi Epsilon at the University of Texas - Austin have been charged with multiple counts of hazing and supplying alcohol to a minors, stemming from the death of 2005 pledge

The officers and the related charges are: President Benny Chan; 7 alcohol charges, and 22 counts of hazing. Pledge captain Andrew Nguyen; 7 alcohol charges and 28 counts of hazing. "Hellmaster" Kamal Pulukur; 14 counts of hazing.

The alcohol charges are based one for each of the seven members of the pledge class. The Phoummarath family has also filed a civil lawsuit.
