Pi Kappa Phi house in Troy, NY first nominee for Fraternity Building of the Year

Tiffany windows, foosball in frat house fit for king

The Pi Kappa Phi house at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute makes those of us who lived in what amounted to converted dormitories say "what the F...". Their house is a Victorian Castle built in the 1890s by John W. Paine, a local businessman. At the time, it was one of the largest homes in Troy, NY. More pictures can be viewed here, the chapters website.
"When director Martin Scorsese came to Troy to make his 1993 film 'Age of Innocence,' he tapped the Paine House as the location for many of the indoor scenes."

So far the Alpha Tau chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity stands to win the 2007 Fraternity Building of the Year Award. Think your house is better? Send submissions to fratboynews@yahoo.com
