Frat House Busted for Underage Drinking

A Thirsty-Thursday party Wisconsin-Stout's Sigma Tau Gamma created a mess for local police and those students who attended.

133 underage drinkers left the party Thursday night with citations. The university's chancellor took immediate action, suspending Sigma Tau Gamma for 4 years.

Students said police surrounded the house and moved in to raid the party, ending the fun.

WEAU reported that an anonymous party-goer told said the fraternity members were trying to get people to leave at one point so nothing like this would happen. She said the fraternity “does not deserve this.”

"It was a bring-your-own-beer thing, and we were all partying," said Brandon Paulson the next morning after spending the night in a local jail, "some friends told me about the party and I went there with them, all of sudden the door over here opened, there's cops coming in from all over there."

KARE reported that members of Sigma Tau Gamma were asked the the university not to speak to the press about the situation. They said their fraternity and its national organization cannot yet offer any comment about the party and its consequences.
