Lindsay Lohan is the Cause of Underage Drinking

Underage Drinking Still Glamorized by the Media

Should the media be held responsible as a source that influences and portrays teenagers into underage drinking?

Underage drinking, particularly among college students, is responsible for about 5,000 of the deaths each year of people under the age of 21, according to Howard University's Hilltop student newspaper.

Many believe the teenage sensation Lindsay Lohan has instilled a "party hard" philosophy into the minds of America's youth with her flamboyant social lifestyle and habits. Lohan, who is still only 20 years of age, said she has been attending alcoholics' anonymous meetings for over year. People believe that the image Lohan and others portray makes the media responsible for some of the pressure and reasons why underage kids touch alcohol to begin with.

Experts say that the youth of our nation need to understand the consequences and effects of alcohol at an early age, and must learn to say "no" when faced with making the difficult decision whether or not to participate in underage drinking.

How experts plan to keep college students who are not yet 21 from drinking has yet to been said. With enough alcohol education, experts believe they can help lower the amount of problems associated with underage drinking.

Oh ya, you're welcome for the Lohan pics, enjoy kids!
