Neighbors of UTC Tired of the Filthy Greek Life, Won't Allow Kappa Delta to Move In

Variance Board Denies Permit for Sorority House at Fort Wood

Here's a story we didn't believe was true until we read it. The Kappa Delta sorority at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga was denied a permit to build a new house on a city residential block by the town's variance board.

A large number of residents of the historic Fort Hood neighborhood in Chattanooga rallied at a meeting to oppose the sorority moving in. Currently there are two fraternities and two sororities living in Fort Hood and the residents have had enough.

One woman at the meeting said she was tired of the filthy acts which already occur at the current houses. She said there is loud cursing at all hours, sex in the yard, smoking of marijuana, and boys and girls alike using the bathroom in the yard.

Kappa Delta is the only sorority at the university without their own house. Campus officials said they may create on campus housing in a residence hall for the girls.
