Australia College Tries to Keep Pot Bust Under Wraps
College Surrenders Cannabis Stash
Police recovered a small amount of marijuana at Xavier College in Australia after students were reported to have been selling it around campus.
A student had been expelled in February for selling pot, and three other students who had bought some were placed on suspension by the university. At first, Xavier did not report the incident to local police.
"There are issues in relation to the seizure and destruction of the drug and technically the school has no legislative authority to take possession or dispose of the drug," said a senior police officer. His department began questioning the university about the incident, and took the drugs from the college.
