Kansas State Pi Kappa Phi Set to Close

Thin Ranks Will Force KSU Frat to Close

Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at Kansas State University will be closing its doors at the end of the semester. The fraternity had not been able to recruit many new members, and was not able to keep up occupancy rates.

The average house at Kansas State is 61 brothers, however, Pi Kappa Phi had only 20 brothers. They recruited only two new members this year, and only six the year before.

While the fraternity is closing down, they already have plans to recolonize in 2011. Pi Kappa Phi has been successful closing down and recolonizing campuses in the past.

"We did the same thing at Missouri and Colorado,Those chapters now have 100 members each." said Tim Lindemuth, fraternity's housing corporation president.

I request a correction in this article. It mentions "Pi Kappa Alpha" twice, when actually it mean "Pi Kappa Phi." The PIKE Chapter at K-State is one of the strongest in the country!
