Memphis Police Bust Stabbing Suspect
The Frat Boy News daily campus police report for Thursday: "That's good, they always have to catch the criminals." says Freshman Laquisha Hedrick. U of M worked with Memphis Police, releasing surveillance video of Judge using Carla Robinson's credit card. We showed you the pictures and you called in tips. Police say the system worked. "We are gonna do everything we can to apprehend and seek conviction of crimes like these." says Police Director Larry Godwin. Crime victim Carla Robinson is glad the nightmare is over and wants to move on. "I would like the students to know to be careful." says Robinson. Police say Judge was not a student, but had been on campus before, breaking into vending machines. They say Valerie Jones was his accomplice, driving the getaway car. Still according to campus police, crimes like these are rare. "If you average them out over the last couple of years, we have had four or five a year. That's been it. Some of them are on the streets around campus and not on campus." says U of M Campus Police Director Bruce Harber. Still some students are a little uneasy, especially at night. "That big area of grass between the car and the library at night it is dark. That's all it is. I know the light pole is out there but it gets dark." says U of M Senior Rachel Kannady. Lights and emergency phones are designed to keep students safe, but many are still looking over their shoulder, after what they say was a real crime lesson on campus.
