Ohio State Girl Abducted and Raped

A 19-year-old female Ohio State student was abducted at knife point from the area of W. 11th and High Streets and raped Saturday around 11 p.m., according to a crime alert issued by University Police.

Steve Sterrett, community relations director for Campus Partners, said the suspect has not been apprehended but surveillance cameras might have captured the abduction on video.

"We have security cameras and did provide the police with video surveillance," he said.

University Police Chief Paul Denton said the Columbus Division of Police is investigating the off-campus attack, but University Police would help if necessary.

"We're more there to support the student victim," he said.

According to the crime alert, the suspect is a 5-foot-7 black male with a thin build, medium complexion and short hair. He wore a black jacket, jeans and a winter hat at the time of the attack.
