Former Duke Lacrosse Player Cleared of Charges Transfers to Brown
Cleared Duke Lacrosse Player Will Attend Brown
Reade Seligmann, one of the three former Duke University lacrosse players cleared of sexual assault charges last month, will transfer to Brown University to continue both his athletic and academic careers.
Seligmann and the two other players were kicked off the lacrosse team and suspended from Duke while the court proceedings from an alleged sexual assault at a 2006 team party involving a stripper played out.
Seligmann said he has appreciated the support he's received through the ordeal from his teammates and coaches, but indicated it was just time for him to move on to someplace new.
“I know that they will understand why I cannot return to Duke,” he said.
