Got a College Degree and No Job? Work in Porn!
The Connection Between SoCal Schools and Pornography
The pornography industry brings in more than $8 billion annually, and more than 165,000 graduated of California State University in Northridge help make it a reality.
"There has been a long history of indirect involvement (with the porn industry). I know we have students who graduate and go on to work in production, editing and so on. But I don't know them personally," a spokesperson from the university said.
Just east of the porno capital of the world you can find the university, and many graduates make a career out of college working in the industry. Many students take internships with porn companies that lead to jobs performing a variety of tasks after graduation.
"We're not able to screen internship requests directly, but we do need to get paperwork from the employer, so when we get that it gets flagged if they're, uh … (a part of the pornography industry)," an official from the University of Southern California told Northridge's student newspaper. "And we let the student know that this is a bad idea."
Many college graduates have a lot of student loans to pay back when they finish college, and without quickly finding a job, they get even further in debt. Jobs in porn and be a quick solution to that problem for many students, and may even lead to a rewarding career and a promising future.
