Grove City Students Can Finally Get Drunk

Grove City OKs Liquor Sales

After years of not being able to find a local bar to have a few drinks near Grove City College in Pennsylvania, students will now be able to have that opportunity in the next few years.

Voters passed a referendum Tuesday that will allow the sale of liquor in the borough of Grove City, a town that was traditionally dry for many years. With the passing of the initiative, two liquor licenses will now be available to local bars or restaurants hoping to legally sell to students.

Previously, Grove City students had no place to legally drink near the conservative campus. If they wanted to go to the bar, they had to travel to either nearby Slippery Rock University. Westminster College students won't get that chance though.

Voters in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, voted down a similar referendum to allow the sale of liquor near the college.
