Kansas Chi Omega House Hit By Truck

Airborne Driver Hits KU Sorority

It's not a usual Sunday when a pickup truck crashes into a sorority house, but for the girls of Chi Omega at the University of Kansas, it was just that.

An unknown man was reportedly breaking car windows near bars close to campus with a hammer, when police were called and he took off in a pickup truck. The truck was traveling at about 85 mph when it went airborne and jumped a fountain in front of the Chi Omega house, and then came crashing into it.

"A bunch of girls woke up because they felt the truck hit the house,” said Mallory Hammersmith, the sorority's former president. Several study areas in the house were damaged in the crash, but fortunately girls preparing for finals had already gone to sleep.

"We’re going to have to compensate with other areas,” she said. “It’s one of those peculiar things, but it’s truly a blessing that no one was in that room when the accident occurred," she said.

Actually, our president's name is Mallory Hammersmith.

And the incident was... awesome.
