Sigma Chi Allowed to Return to Oklahoma

OU Allows Fraternity Back on Campus

After losing its charter when a pledge died of alcohol poisoning in 2004, the University of Oklahoma's chapter of Sigma Chi has been reinstated on the campus.

In 2004, a 19-year old student died of alcohol poisoning after having a blood alcohol content more than five times the legal limit. Sigma Chi has now met every condition required by a fraternity to rejoin the Greek population a Oklahoma ans was approved for the return this spring.

The chapter will begin to rush new members this coming fall when classes resume.
