A female student at Northeastern Illinois University was robbed and sexually assaulted on the Northwest Side campus this week, school officials said Thursday.

Chicago police were searching for two attackers, described as boys ages 13 to 15. One was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and baggy jeans, and the other wore a gray T-shirt and baggy jeans, the officials said.

The attack happened about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday near outdoor benches between the school's Physical Education Building and a parking lot, both located near WTTW-Ch. 11 studios, according to a university statement.

The student was walking toward a CTA bus stop at Foster and Central Park Avenues when the attackers began to follow her, officials said.

"The student was walking from class from out of the science building," university spokeswoman Erika Krehbiel said.

One of them tackled the student and put her in a chokehold, touched her inappropriately and made a sexual comment, officials said. The other attacker took the victim's wallet, then both attackers fled east toward St. Louis Avenue, officials said.
