Bradley Soccer Players Charged in Fire that Killed Teammate
4 Students Charged in Fire the Killed Soccer Player
Four soccer players at Bradley University were charged in the tragic death of a teammate after a prosecutor said a prank after a long night of drinking was the cause.
Sheridan "Danny" Dahlquist, a Bradley sophomore, was found dead near his bedroom window early Sunday. The prosecutor said his friends and teammates lit fireworks under his door in a prank that led to his death.
Bradley soccer players Nicholas Mentgen, 21, Ryan Johnson, 22, David Crady, 19, and Daniel Cox, 20, each were charged with two counts of aggravated arson and one count of possession of an explosive or incendiary device.
Dahlquist died of smoke inhalation, a toxicology report said. The men had tried to rescue him after they realized the room caught fire, but were forced to escape from the house because of intense heat.
