The University of Hawaii football team has been named the favorite in the 2007 Western Athletic Conference football media poll released on Monday.

The Warriors were 11-3 last year and led the nation in scoring offense, passing offense and total offense. UH finished the season with a 41-24 win over Arizona State at the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.

Five-time defending WAC champion Boise State was chosen as the runner-up by four votes in the media poll and three votes shy of No. 1 in the coaches poll.

Boise was the only team in the nation to go undefeated last season. The Broncos capped off the season with a 43-42 victory in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma in overtime.

UH Quarterback Colt Brennan was voted preseason offensive player of the year for the second straight year. He is considered a contender for the Heisman Trophy.
