Dickinson Sorority Party Busted
The Frat Boy News Daily Police Report
As reported by The Sentinel Online
Pi Beta Phi officials are investigating after police say the Dickinson College sorority chapter organized a party Saturday that led to three students being charged.
“This event was a planned date party held at a local establishment, and as with any risk management violation, we are investigating the situation,” said Stephanie Gurley-Thomas, a communications specialist with Pi Beta Phi’s national organization. “We are pleased that the chapter has responded quickly to address these issues and know that they are working closely with local advisers.”
The Dickinson sorority was responsible for sponsoring and organizing the party at Howard Johnson Inn’s Country Oven Bar in the 1200 block of Harrisburg Pike, according to Middlesex Township police.
Police say they initially responded at 10:40 p.m. to a report of a leg laceration, then found a large party with underage people who were drinking.
Police say their investigation is continuing, with the possibility of further arrests.
"All of our women’s sororities are alcohol-free, and four of the fraternities also are," said Dickinson College spokeswoman Christine Dugan. "That is mandated by their national organizations."
"As best we can tell there has been quick and productive response by the national organization as well as the local chapter to address the situation," Dugan added.
