Sorority Members Accused of Hazing
Sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Southeastern Louisiana University have been accused of hazing new members.
Student Arieal Ellis said she was hazed in January at an off-campus party where she was locked in a room, told to remove her clothes, struck with a belt and paddle and slapped in the face, police said.
Ellis told school officials after accusing the sorority of hazing the charges were false, but again admitted they occurred later.
The accused students have been temporarily suspended by the school.
