Freshmen Class Netting More Drinking Arrests

As Penn State is beginning to prepare for their second largest freshmen class in the university's history, underage students are getting shitfaced more often than ever before.

University officials said that underage drinking has continued to rise at the campus, particularly among freshmen students. Last year alone, State College police issued 862 citations for underage drinking to 18 and 19 year olds.

Borough officials also believe an increase in noise, trash, and vandalism are all the cause of underage drinking.

"The freshmen tend to come and want to experiment with booze, and then we tend to have more neighborhood complaints and more police calls and more public drunks and related behaviors," said borough councilman Jeff Kern.
