Florida Lawmakers Trying to Stop Underage Drinking

Bill Targets Underage Drinking

Florida Lawmakers are trying to pass a new bill that would mandate colleges to develop specific plans for dealing with underage drinking.

Under the new bill which could be passed as early as this week, Florida universities would also be forced to compile annual reports on alcohol and drug abuse to give to the governor.

The University of Florida president wanted part of the bill to include regulations on college-town drink specials, but it never made it.

Since it didn't make the bill, some Florida officials want a ban on drink specials like bladder busters, where bar's allow free drinks or lower prices until someone needs to piss.
