Student Found Dead in California

UC Merced Body Identified

The body of a student found outside a dorm Saturday morning at the University of California-Merced has been identified as 18-year old Hector Hugo Barrera-Barraza, police said.

Two students found Barrera-Barraza lying on the ground near a dorm around 10 a.m. Saturday, without a pulse and a wound to the right side of his head.

The cause of death has not yet been determined and police hope to have the autopsy results Monday.
