Florida Pikes Suspended for September Barbecue

UF Frat Suspended Through 2011

The University of Florida's chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha has been suspended through 2011 for violating the college's alcohol policy by serving minors alcohol last September.

The university's Greek Judicial Board recommended to suspend the Pikes through 2009, but Florida's dean of students, Eugene Zdziarski, said the longer suspension came as a result of the frat failing to recognize the seriousness of their actions.

An investigation into the barbecue party began after three women claimed to be drugged by brothers. The state attorney has since dropped all charges against brothers because of a lack of evidence.
