Man Drives Into Bowling Green Pi Phi House
Car Smashes Into Sorority House Over Weekend
Brandon Ruhlen of Tiffin, Ohio, smashed his car into the side of the Pi Beta Phi house at Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon, taking out a fire hydrant in the process.
"The whole house shook and I ran out to ask my roommate what happened," said Kasie Kimball, a BG sophomore. "She said maybe someone fell out of their bed, but unless they weighed like a thousand pounds, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a person."
After the original suspect, a one thousand pound sister, was eliminated, it was determined that the culprit was, in fact, a two thousand pound car.
"Luckily it hit at an angle rather than going straight, because our house is probably a little too old to handle it," said Kimball.
Ruhlen, who is not a BG student, was taken to the hospital, treated, and released. He is being charged with reckless driving and not wearing a seatbelt. There is no mention of alcohol or drugs playing a part in the accident.
