Stanford Frats Begin Rush Week
Inside the Rush Process
Stanford University fraternity brothers are busy this week rushing perspective new members.
“This year our rush events are sort of themed around our basic rush theme,” said Anant Vinjamoori, Sigma Epsilon’s rush chair. “Which is basically us being different from all the other fraternities and better. Hence our slogan, ‘Different and Better.’”
After each event, most fraternities hold rush meeting to talk about the guys they met and what they could bring to their chapters.
“It varies in length, getting longer as the process goes on,” said David Pringle, Sigma Alpha Epsilon's ruch chair. “It’s basically just the impressions that people have. If you talk to a guy and say that he’s a great guy, I’ll make sure to talk to him later on.”
