Former UC Riverside Student Made Graduation Bomb Threats; Didn't Want His Mother to Know He Dropped Out of School

Former UC Riverside Student Pleads Not Guilty to Campus Threats

A former student of the University of California in Riverside pleaded not guilty Wednesday to making bomb threats that forced graduation to be canceled. Police said the student had made the threats because he didn't want his mother to find out he dropped out of college.

Audley Young, 22, was said to have sent a letter and two e-mails to the university, threatening to set off explosives at commencement June 15.

"This is just a sad case with a young man who made some terrible decisions," Audley's attorney said. "He feels sad and remorseful for any fear he's caused the students and the community. He wants to do everything he can to make up for it."
