A former star linebacker at Boston College is expected to be indicted this week on a variety of drug charges, prosecutors said yesterday.
Ray Henderson, 23, a one-time All-Big East player who was a starter his final three seasons, was arrested in May at his apartment on Sutherland Road in Brighton.
At the time of his arrest, Boston police seized 28 grams of cocaine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, bags of marijuana and more that $3,600 in cash. They also took an electronic scale from the apartment.
A spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said the grand jury investigation into Henderson is ongoing.
Henderson, who hails from Cresskill, N.J., had nine interceptions and made 263 tackles in his career at BC. He was second on the team in tackles in 2005, his senior year.
A spokesperson for BC had no comment on Henderson's arrest or probable indictment. "That was after his time here," she said yesterday.
