The Frat Boy News Preseason Top 12 Power Rankings, Part III

The Frat Boy News College News Preseason Top 12

6. Penn State Nittany Lions (compiled by Lancaster Newspapers)

Senior quarterback Anthony Morelli threw for 2,424 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, and came up large in the Outback Bowl against Tennessee. Will that momentum carry over?

Junior wideout Deon Butler is a Home-run threat and had 85 catches for 1,328 yards and 11 TDs the last two seasons.

Senior linebacker Dan Connor will switch to the middle this season, the spot Paul Posluszny occupied the last couple of years. Defensive ringleader.

5. Wisconsin Badgers (compiled by MLive.com)

What do you expect, it's Wisconsin football.

The Badgers will still be steady, but the loss of Joe Thomas bumped this group out of the class of Michigan and Ohio State. The "smallest" guy on the line will likely be Thomas's replacement, sophomore Jake Bscherer - he's 6-7 and around 300.

That means the rest of the line is gigantic, led by Andy Kemp and Marcus Coleman at left guard and center. Wisconsin has struggled to block in passing situations, but they'll run the bejezus out of the ball again.

4. Florida Gators (compiled by SportingNews.com)

You kind of have to feel sorry for Florida football, right? They win a national championship, and the basketball team one-ups them by winning back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.

OK, no one is crying for the Gators. (Would those be alligator tears?) But the Florida footballers have their work cut out for them if they hope to match their basketball brethren with another title.

Urban Meyer's squad loses quarterback Chris Leak and nine starters on defense. Their tailback situation is a mess. Their schedule features Tennessee and Auburn at home, Georgia at Jacksonville and visits to LSU and South Carolina.
