More trouble at UCF: Sigma Phi Epsilon Suspended
Pledge Claims Abuse During UCF Hazing Incident; Frat Suspended
The University of Central Florida has suspended a third fraternity for hazing. A SigEp pledge claims he was taken to an off-campus rural location and "forced to jump into a trash can full of Crisco, cottage cheese, syrup and sardines" he also claims to have been denied medical treatment when he injured his back.
The university has suspended two other fraternities recently. It suspended Sigma Alpha Epsilon for six years over a hazing incident in October of 2006, and suspended Pi Kappa Alpha in early 2005, also for hazing. UCF has had legal problems with the Pikes and their former house, as detailed below.
