The brothers of the already suspended chapter of Pi Kappa Phi will face further disciplinary action as they have now been suspended from the campus through 2011.

The fraternity was originally suspended in 2006 after a stir of hazing allegations. The university extended that suspension after they found that brothers had taken part in a fraternity-sponsored event this past year.

UCF Frat Suspended for Three Years Over Hazing Allegations

As reported by the Frat Boy News on January 15, the University of Central Florida's chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon will be facing a suspension by the school for alleged hazing. As it turns out, UCF decided to suspend the boys for 3 years.

The hazing allegations stemmed from an incident last fall when a pledge said he suffered a bulged disc in his back during the incident and wasn't allowed to go the hospital.

More trouble at UCF: Sigma Phi Epsilon Suspended

Pledge Claims Abuse During UCF Hazing Incident; Frat Suspended

The University of Central Florida has suspended a third fraternity for hazing. A SigEp pledge claims he was taken to an off-campus rural location and "forced to jump into a trash can full of Crisco, cottage cheese, syrup and sardines" he also claims to have been denied medical treatment when he injured his back.
The university has suspended two other fraternities recently. It suspended Sigma Alpha Epsilon for six years over a hazing incident in October of 2006, and suspended Pi Kappa Alpha in early 2005, also for hazing. UCF has had legal problems with the Pikes and their former house, as detailed below.

Pikes Win Case, University Still Wants Money

Frat House Runs Up Legal Bills

The University of Central Florida is hoping to gain $300,000 in legal fees from the purchase of property from the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. A December court case ruled that the run-down house was worth at least $1,000,000, and that the Pike Eta Phi alumni chapter violated their lease by not maintaining the house.

University officials hope to gain the legal fees because they believe the fraternity escalated court costs by refusing to settle, and forcing the case to extend longer than it should have. For once, a frat wins a case over the college, and the university still won't give up the fight.
