40 Nights Without Stalking:
Students Giving Up Facebook For Lent

Youths Try A Different Lent Focus: Facebook

The 40 days and 40 nights of Lent cause some people to sacrifice things in their lives as a tribute to their savior. I gave up green beans and heroine, but other college kids are giving up real things like social networking sites.

Maura Toomb, a junior at Loyola College, decided to give up Facebook for Lent. Wow, what was she thinking.

"I'm going to use the extra time" - dozens of hours a month, Toomb said - "to reflect, to pray, and things like that."

"Facebook is a huge part of life, almost something that's abused," says Sam Hager, a freshman at the University of Minnesota who's boycotting Facebook until Easter Sunday. "I look at Lent as a time to resist temptation and a season to sacrifice."

"The second day, I almost went on," says Analiza Saraza, a 19-year-old international business major at Mount St. Mary's. "It was like, 'www.F-A-C ... .'" Saraza took it one step further than the others - she gave up AOL Instant Messenger too.

Lent ends Easter Sunday. Good luck on your fasts of Facebook stalking!

Campus Girls USA

If only there was a web site determined to search the country to find the most beautiful and stunning college girls to be models for their calenders? A beautiful girl for each month of the year, and the best part is, they are all from your college.

Campus Girls USA is a web site determined to do just that. With superbly crafted photography, the site plans to recruit actual college girls from your university to fill its calender months. The 2007 edition has already been released, made exclusively for the University of Iowa, and can be purchased here.

Next years calenders include editions exclusively for Central Florida, Louisiana State, Minnesota, Ohio State, South Carolina, South Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin. Each week, the site is introducing a new group of finalists from each college for you to vote upon.

And if your college wasn't selected for one of next years calenders, don't fret. Girls from your school can apply to be a Campus Girl. According to the site, girls don't need prior modeling experience. They are conducting a nationwide search and looking girls with fun personalities, positive attitudes, and a strong work ethic. Tell you girl friend to fill out an application so she can be featured as a "Girl of the Week."

Check out the 2008 finalists and see if that girl you're always checking out during class made the list. Each finalist has a video

Apparently You Can't Fight If You Want the Right to Party

Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity Faces Trouble for Risk Management Violation

Delta Kappa Epsilon, more commonly known as DKE, is being placed on social probation for a fight that took place last December at the University of Minnesota.

The fight occurred when 3 men attempted to come into an unregistered date party at the DKE house. The brothers were cited for failing to register the party with the school. After the men were forced to leave, about 10 brothers met them outside the house and knocked one of the men unconscious. DKE will be on social probation until Feb. 11.
