A Sorority is Like "Chex Mix," Like Totally
Sorority Members Dispel Stereotypes about Going Greek
As sorority recruitment begins this week at Florida State University, many current sisters are trying to promote their chapters by informing potential new members that the stereotypes that go along with many Greek organizations are untrue.
The best part about this story is the title. I'm not sure what the original author was trying to prove with this piece, but it completely reinforces every negative stereotype of a sorority girl. The article features several members of Delta Delta Delta at FSU. Below is a sampling of the brilliant and well thought out quotes of the Tri-Delt ladies.
"It's a melting pot of loud people," said Jessica Cohen, a sister of FSU's Delta Delta Delta. "It's like Chex Mix. We got all the flavors. The good outweighs the bad.”
The sisters of Delta Delta Delta stepped up to the plate, in defense of the Greek system.
“They think we are snobby and stuck up,” said junior Missy DeMaio, another Tri-Delt sister.
“They think Daddy pays for everything," said Cohen, 20, a junior majoring in fashion merchandising.
“They think I pay for my friends,” said Ashley Schultz, also a junior Tri-Delt.
“I put in blood, sweat and tears,” Cohen said. “We are repaying a lifetime of commitment to a name. We are living a legend.”
Ya, right, uhuh.
Oh yea, the photos above are from a Tri-Delt and Pike "get together."
It sure does look like you're enjoing your commitment to living your legacy, or whatever the hell you were talking about girls.
At least the Pike in the pink shirt and aviators seems to be.
They even enjoy the legacy of nickel beer night, giant beer bongs, girl-on-girl action, skimpy and revealing outfits on Halloween, giant cigars, and share a strong love for our soldiers overseas.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a power hour to finish. Go Greek!

Hi my name is Jessica Cohen, the infamous Tridelta mentioned and quoted in your response to an article I was interviewed for. I wanted to inform you and others reading this that you are practicing unprofessional journalism by taking quotes out of context to construct what you think is supporting sorority stereotypes. You are wrong and uninformed and if you would like to write an article to speak your mind do your own research. If you need quotes and pictures to make your article interesting, because it is NOT, then you are welcome to come to Delta Delta Delta and find out the truth.
-Thank you for your time and criticism.
Hi Jessica. My name is The Frat Boy News. We report fraternity, sorority, and Greek life news each and everyday.
If you would like to write an open letter to our readers, please drop us the letter in an email, and our editors will take a look at it. You can email us at fratboynews@yahoo.com
The article does not criticize your sorority whatsoever, and wasn't intended to do so by any means. The article simple criticizes the inidividual thoughts of you and a few of your sisters. The quotes were not meant to be taken out of context, and we don't think they are. We have done our own research on campuses across the nation, thank you for asking.
Thank you for the open and heartwarming invitation to visit your sorority house.
Delta Delta Delta...
Daddy pays for everything, they do coke, tan to bloody hell and THEY ALL SLEEP AT THE PIKE HOUSE!
Drive in Heritage Grove and you'll see the BMWs with tridelt on the back.
