Alcohol Banned Again at Arizona State Frat 'Hood

Alpha Drive Dry Again

A recent rise in violence on the Alpha Drive fraternity neighborhood of Arizona State University's campus has resulted in ban of alcohol at all frats until March 24.

University officials cite an upswing in violence and issued the man to increase safety in the neighborhood. The decision came this week, following an incident last weekend where a man was stabbed in the chest by an unidentified man. The victim was unfortunately a brother of one of the campus' fraternities.

The ban on alcohol will follow a procedure similarly to one that was enforced as recently as last year, university officials said.

"It was, 'Don't see, don't tell.' If everything was in the rooms or behind closed doors, nobody got in trouble," said Seth Wasserstrom, an Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity member. The campus is looking into setting up a security force for the neighborhood.
