Radford Sigma Chi Hazing Still Under Investigation

Police Contunue To Investigate Alleged Hazing

As reported by The Roanoke Times:

Police and school investigations are still going on into alleged hazing by the Radford University chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

University spokesman Rob Tucker said the school investigation should be complete next week. Police Chief Gary Harmon said his department's investigation should conclude in a couple of weeks.

Under state law, hazing so as to cause injury to any student is a Class 1 misdemeanor. Police are also looking into whether alcohol laws were broken or any other infractions were committed, Harmon said.

The university suspended the off-campus fraternity Feb. 23. During the suspension, the fraternity cannot interact with other organizations or hold meetings. Messages left for the fraternity chapter's consul, Radford senior Eric Drum, and at Sigma Chi's international headquarters in Illinois were not returned.
