Georgia Gets New Zeta Psi Chapter
New Frat Thwarts Traditional Stereotypes
A student at the University of Georgia didn't like the other fraternities on campus, so he decided to make his own.
Austin Carson, a junior at Georgia, created a colony of Zeta Psi at the university because he didn't like the stereotypical image the other frat portrayed.
"People wouldn't expect to fit in, but they do," he said. According to a report by the university's student newspaper, everbody in Zeta Psi brings something different to the table.
"We're different from the other frats in that we have such a wide range of personalities. A lot of the frats on campus try to ingrain that one belief and one 'look' about their frat, but really we're all just different, and we came together to make something that's really special and hopefully successful in the future," Ryan Lavner, a Zeta Psi, said.
