Snoop Dogg on Imus and Rutgers Controversy

Snoop Dogg: "Don't Compare Me to Don Imus"

Unless you've been been sleeping off a hangover for the last week, you've heard about radio talk show host Don Imus, and the things he said about the Rutgers women's basketball team.

He referred to the Scarlet Knight ladies as "nappy-headed hoes."

A lot of pundits have commented that the same language and terms are used in hip-hop music, with little controversy. The ever eloquent Doggystyle star Snoop Dogg chimed in with his thoughts, clearing the air on this subject.

"It's a completely different scenario," Snoop said. "(Rappers) are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports.'

"We're talking about hoes that's in the 'hood that ain't doing s**t, that's trying to get a n**ga for his money. These are two separate things," stated the D-O-Double G.

"First of all, we ain't no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC going hard on black girls," continued the rap icon.

"We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel," he continued. "I will not let them muthaf**kas say we are in the same league as him."

"Kick him off the air forever," Snoop concluded.

Well said Mr. Dogg, well said. Imus has been booted from the airwaves by CBS, there is speculation that the talk radio star will be moving on to satellite radio.

Now that Snoop Dog has commented, I guess it's official.

I think it's BS. We've all been called names...EVERYONE, by someone somewhere, and we've all called someone else a name. We live in a country where this is acceptable and expected, really...it's what forms our society.

Not that I'm saying that Imus is in jepardy of legal action...this is indeed a social issue. I'm just saying, let's see how this plays out socially for those "corporates" that turn there back on him.

He's fine in my book, just like Bill Mahr is, and all the other talk/comedy talk folks out there.

Sometimes it hurts, but these folks are just entertainers..they can't please everyone all the time.
