Georgia Student Put in Jail for Threats
The Frat Boy News daily campus police report for Wednesday:

A University of Georgia graduate student whose rants alarmed a professor is in jail after undergoing a mental evaluation.
UGA police reports show 27-year-old Brandon Ginyard confronted officers with a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun when they arrived at his apartment April 30th with a commitment order and a warrant to search for weapons.
A judge signed the commitment order and search warrants after Ginyard made threatening statements during a meeting with the academic director of UGA's Terry College of Business.
Police reports say Ginyard was agitated and ended the meeting by telling the administrator, "Graduation doesn't matter. I will either be in jail or dead by May 11."
Ginyard was taken to East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta for a psychological evaluation and was released into police custody Monday afternoon. He was booked into Clarke County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer.
Court officials say the results of Ginyard's psychological exam have not been made public, as they fall under medical confidentiality laws. But UGA police records obtained Tuesday by the Athens-Banner Herald show the man was apparently disturbed.
In October 2006, the university's Counseling and Psychiatric Services reported to campus police that students were afraid of Ginyard because he had a gun and threatened to kill himself and others. Authorities did not act after officers found that Ginyard had a permit for the gun. They reported the student was cooperative and showed no sign of self-destructive behavior.
