Pittsburg State Sigma Chi House Gets Rowdy

Frat Party Raises Ruckus

A recent party at Pittsburg State's Sigma Chi house was so loud, it is being investigated for possible noise violations.

"I walked outside at probably around 11:30, and heard noise that sounded like a band, but I didn't know where it was coming from," said Nick Spilker, a freshman told the university's student newspaper. "I heard it from across campus, pretty much."

Police stopped by the house and found out the fraternity had brought a live band in to play called "Season's Diminished." The band got a late start and finally played around 11:30 p.m.

The girls of Sigma Sigma Sigma even brought their mothers over to the Sigma Chi house to hear the band play. Their mother's were on campus for a mother's celebration event.

Any noise heard over 50 feet away after 10 p.m. is considered a violation of the community's noise ordinance and is penalized with a $500 fine.
