A brother of Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville's chapter of Iota Phi Theta pleaded not guilty to charges of threatening a Virginia Tech-like massacre at his campus, calling it a misunderstanding.

"I believe in God, and I believe God knows I have no intentions of ill will," said Olutosin O. Oduwole, the fraternity's president. Police found handwritten threats of violence in his car he said he would carryout unless specific conditions were met, police said.

According to police, Oduwole demanded money be sent to his PayPal account. In the note, police said he wrote "if this account doesn't reach $50,000 in the next 7 days then a murderous rampage similar to the VT shooting will occur at another highly populated university. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!"

In a 'Robot Chicken' episode, a gun is held to the head of an animated bunny rabbit and demanded to give money, which is where the adviser said Oduwole got the idea.

Police said that Oduwole had earlier this month purchased three semi-automatic handguns online, as well as a fourth semi-automatic weapon, an uzi-type firearm.

He was released from prison after posting bail.

An episode of Cartoon Network's 'Robot Chicken' may have provoked the president of Iota Phi Theta's chapter at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville to threaten a massacre similar to that of Virginia Tech's at the campus, the fraternity's adviser told police.

Olutosin O. Oduwole, the fraternity's president, was charged by police and is being held in jail after failing to post $1,000,000 bond. Inside his car, police found handwritten threats of violence unless specific conditions were met, police said.

"Although no threat has been conveyed or delivered at this point, we are staying directly involved in this investigation and will act accordingly if and when an actual or perceived threat becomes apparent," the university's police Chief Regina Hays said in a press release.

Oduwole, a freshman, was arrested Friday.

Phi Psi President Charged with Making Bomb Threat on Facebook

Police said the president of Phi Kappa Psi's chapter at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville made a bomb threat on Facebook.

Another student found the threat on the Facebook profile of student Andrew Stone, and reported it to police. Stone was arrested shorty after the report at a restaurant where he works.

Police searched the students apartment and vehicle, but found nothing bomb-worthy. He could face expulsion from the university, in addition to facing charges of disorderly conduct.

The report didn't say what Stone's profile said to indicate the threat.
