BYU Girl Reported Missing

The Frat Boy News Daily Police Report

Brigham Young University (compiled by FirstCoastNews.com)

Thousands of Brigham Young University students are starting Fall semester Tuesday as family, friends and police search for 22-year-old student Camille Cleverley.

There's been no sign of her since Thursday when she left her Provo, Utah apartment on her bike. Family members and friends spent the holiday weekend putting up fliers to alert the public that Camille is missing.

Police have searched the campus as well as Rock Canyon and the Provo River bike trail, but they have not found any sign of the missing woman.

Police say they have no reason to suspect foul play, but it is a possibility. Investigators say the longer the search lasts, the more they have to consider foul play.

So far there's nothing that necessarily points in that direction. It's been more than five days since Camille disappeared, and there's still no sign of her.

More than 150 volunteers have teamed up with her family to distribute close to 1,500 posters.

BYU Ranks as Nation's Most Sober College

The Frat Boy News Daily Pause for the Cause

Brigham Young University (compiled by Tad Walch, DeseretNews.com)

Hey, everybody at Brigham Young University, it's time to party like it's 1998.

BYU style, that is — no beer, no liquor, no marijuana. Sprite and study hall, anyone?

For the 10th straight year, BYU is the nation's No. 1 stone-cold sober school, according to the Princeton Review's annual college guide "The Best 366 Colleges," released today.

Don't expect any campus parties to celebrate a solid decade of super-hyped sobriety. First, there are no fraternities or sororities at BYU. And second, the students are gone, replaced this week by their parents, alumni and other post-collegiate members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more than 20,000 of them, who have invaded the campus for the annual Education Week.

BYU has dominated the stone-cold category since 1998, when Bill Clinton was president, BYU-Idaho was still known as Ricks and Harry Potter was just 12 years old and in his second year at Hogwarts.

How does the Princeton Review come to this conclusion, a source of pride for alumni and students, about BYU?

The rankings come from BYU students themselves, said Robert Franek, editorial director of "The Best 366 Colleges." The Princeton Review surveys students at each school every three years. It last approached BYU students in 2005, Franek said, though students can go to www.princetonreview.com anytime and fill out a survey online. Over the past three years, the Princeton folks surveyed 120,000 college and university students.

March 8: An individual was permanently banned from the Howard W. Hunter Law Library after several female patrons felt uncomfortable by his behavior and reported him. The individual was not a law student and was asked to leave on previous occasions for similar reasons.

March 8: A female student reported a suspicious male in the JSB. The male had seated himself close to the student on a couch. The student felt uncomfortable and moved away from the male, who moved closer to her. An observing student gave the girl a note suggesting she move because he had seen this individual acting in such manner before.

March 9: The fire alarm was pulled in May Hall. Someone had ignited a small hand towel on the tile floor of a basement kitchen unit in hopes of setting off the smoke alarm. No one was injured, but there was some damage to the floor.

Creeps Causing Problems at BYU

The Frat Boy News daily campus police report for Friday:

Brigham Young University (compiled by Christopher Williams, BYU NewsNet)
Feb. 22: A female custodian was making her way by the Marriott Center to the JSB in the early morning when a car with its lights on in the parking lot began to follow her. As she was crossing at 450 E 1500 North, the car went ahead of her and made a U-turn, coming back. The car stopped near the tunnel to the Marriott Center and a man got out, pulled his pants down and exposed himself to her. He then got back in and drove off. The victim described the man as a white male 6 feet tall, thin with a short crop of dark hair, in his late 20s to early 30s. He was driving a champagne-colored vehicle similar to a newer Toyota Camry.

Feb. 27: Students reported a male approaching people in the area of John Hall soliciting for money to travel to Lindon. Police noted the man was in possession of a bicycle and smelled of alcohol. He was escorted off campus.

Feb. 14-20: A female student reported an incident of stalking. The female met the suspect on the Internet via Facebook and they began an e-mail correspondence. The substance of the e-mails he began to send the victim disturbed her and led her to believe that he was a stalker.
