Porn Actor Sought in Sorority Rape

Police are looking for a male porn star they say shares the blame with a Washington State University student who broke into three of the college's sororities and sexually assaulted a woman sleeping at the Kappa Alpha Theta house.

Christopher Jack Reid, 25, is better known as his alias in the porn industry "Jack Venice." Police say he and student Kyle M. Schott, 23, "sexually assaulted a woman in a manner that did not involve intercourse" on Thursday who was sleeping at the university's Kappa Alpha Theta house.

Earlier that evening, police say the two men broke into the university's Pi Beta Phi and Delta Gamma houses.

The woman who reported being sexually assaulted wasn't a sister of Kappa Alpha Theta, but was spending the night at their house. She told police she awoke to the sound of a condom being opened and the men fled from the house.

Schott was arrested Friday after the incident and charged with second-degree rape, first-degree burglary, attempted residential burglary and two counts of residential burglary.

Police said the porn star is still on the loose. His last known address was believed to be in Los Angeles. Reid has appeared in over 85 pornos and such classics as "Cougars on the Hunt" and "My First Sex Teacher."

Two sisters of the University of Washington's chapter of Delta Gamma said two strange men followed them back to their house and then hung out in the driveway to take a few peeks into their windows.

"It was really scary," Kayla Roark, another Delta Gamma sister who was in the kitchen of their house when the girls came home, told the university's student newspaper. "[The men] followed them home and the girls came in really freaked out. We noticed the guys leering in the back alley behind our house, pointing at some of the upper rooms, so we called the police."

Many of the university's Greek organizations are now hoping to increase security at their own houses, the newspaper reported.

"Our house talked about it, and now some fraternities have stopped having really big parties, or they’ve encouraged girls not to go, or to go to smaller parties where you’re more likely to see people you know," the Delta Gamma sister said.

A party last week at an apartment above a Subway restaurant near the campus of Ohio University has a sad ending as a brother of Phi Kappa Tau fell from a balcony.

The university is not releasing the name of the students, but said he was hospitalized after the fall and is doing okay. The party reportedly had brothers of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and sisters of Delta Gamma in attendance.

"We talked to the president (of Phi Kappa Tau), and he said that the (student who fell) hadn't been drinking," a student told The Athens News. "But we're obviously not sure of that."

Greeks at the university are hoping a similar incident does not happen again at the Athens, Ohio, campus.

Carnegie Mellon University's Delta Upsilon fraternity won't be renewing its lease at its current house for next year in the campus Greek quadrangle. Instead, the ladies of Delta Gamma will be taking their place.

The final decision was made the the university's director of Campus Services, who approached the Panhellenic Council to help decide who would be next to move in.

“It just made the most sense since [Delta Gamma was] already planning on expanding,” said Kerra Doyle, current Panhellenic Council president.

Delta Upsilon originally lost their lease for the 2005-06 year due to an underage drinking violation, but was allowed to return this year. The report didn't say if the chapter has planned an alternative housing situation.

Sorority girls at Sacramento State University have taken their aggression toward other campus chapters out on the gridiron this spring.

All 10 sorority chapters at the university have participated in the sorority football league. The brother's of Sigma Pi organized the "Sorority Super Bowl Showdown," where the girls from Alpha Phi and Chi Delta met in the league's championship game.

"This year we raised $1,600 for the foundation, which is really good," said Anthony Filice, a member of fraternity Sigma Pi and the event's head organizer. "The last two years, the spirit from the girls was low, but this year spirit was high and it really showed. This year a lot of people put a lot of effort into the event."

Body Recovered From Umpqua River Identified as OSU Student

The body of an Oregon State Student and brother of Lambda Chi Alpha who had been missing since November was found North Umpqua River last week.

The body of Jeffrey Bernard Schmidt, a 22-year old geology major was found Thursday and was identified by his dental records, police said. Schmidt and his girlfriend, Delta Gamma sister Quinn Do Truong, went missing Nov. 19 after leaving a social event.

Schmidt had driven his Jeep off a 70-foot embankment and into the North Umpqua River. His girlfriend was found in the vehicle, but he had disappeared.

University spokesman Todd Simmons said Sunday that the long wait for Schmidt's body was sad for all the students but especially for his fraternity brothers.

"The guys just never really had any closure for their member, and at least now, 3 1/2 months later, now there's some semblance of closure for everyone involved," he said.

A brother of Beta Theta Pi was caught trying to climb into the window of the University of Georgia's Delta Gamma sorority house recently.

Police were called after someone at the Chi Omega house next door saw David Thomas Shaw trying to break into the house. The smart criminal was found by authorities behind the house in the bushes.

Shaw, 20, was charged with loitering, prowling, and underage possession of alcohol.
